Bringing clarity and ease to event coordination

Events Factory is a Rwanda-based platform helping organizers plan, manage, and execute events across Africa. I led the redesign of their dashboard and mobile app to simplify workflows, speed up coordination, and support seamless planning from end to end.

Planning events shouldn’t feel chaotic.

Users often struggled with a complex UI—cluttered screens, disjointed tools, and a lack of real-time updates. The experience didn’t support quick decisions or mobile-first needs. Our challenge? Streamline key actions while supporting scalability and accessibility for a wide user base.

Discovery + Research

Listening to the people behind the plans.

To understand core user needs, we conducted contextual interviews and usability testing with event planners, vendors, and support staff across various event types.

Three main insights emerged:

Users wanted faster access to task assignments and schedules.

The dashboard overwhelmed new users with too many steps.

Mobile users needed better visibility on the go.

The Design

We sketched new workflows for managing schedules, vendors, and team tasks. We followed with mobile-first high-fidelity prototypes, optimized for touch interactions and quick updates.

What we did:

Simplified dashboard layout with priority widgets

Unified task and vendor tracking for better flow

Created a mobile app with real-time event updates

Outcomes

Increase in platform usage during major event periods.
